A Lasting Gift

Endowment contributions provide long-term support for the museum’s mission. While income from endowment fund donations provides funding for specific expenses, responsible stewardship allows the Endowment corpus, or principle, to be preserved in perpetuity. The Sheboygan County Museum currently holds two separate endowment funds.

General Endowment

Income from the General Endowment can be used to fund plant, equipment, and general operating expenses such as salaries and utilities. Income from this Endowment helps sustain a dynamic and forward-looking Museum.

Kenneth E. Conger Educational Endowment

This endowment makes possible our K-12  Education Programs by funding salaries and wages for our education staff. Each school year, the Museum serves nearly 3,000 area students through Full-Day Education Programs for elementary students, hosted on site at the Museum, and through a Middle School outreach program, held in the school classroom.. The Museum currently presents five programs for area schools and homeschools with endowment support.

  • Journey to Sheboygan County,
  • Historic Jobs of Sheboygan County,
  • The Civil War and Sheboygan County,
  • First Peoples of Sheboygan County,
  • The Technology Revolution and Sheboygan County.

Sheboygan County Museum’s Education Programs offer students the opportunity to experience American History hands-on, through the lens of Sheboygan County. Open to public and private schools and homeschool groups, our Education Programs meet Wisconsin and District curriculum standards.
