The Civil War and Sheboygan County
Full Day Education Program
More than just a field trip, the Museum’s Full Day Education Programs allow students to meet classroom objectives while interacting with artifacts and galleries in an interactive environment. The programs engage student imaginations along with their problem-solving skills through a series of coordinated experiences, including hands-on activities, gallery sessions, and overview exercises.
The Civil War and Sheboygan County explores the history of Sheboygan County’s experience in the years surrounding the Civil War. The program looks closely at the experience of those who went to fight in the war versus those who remained in Sheboygan County, along with the short and long-term impact on the people of Sheboygan County. Students are also introduced to the importance of primary sources in historical analysis.
